Siyabonga is in the second year of his three-year incubation support at the Johannesburg incubator. His business specialises in civil engineering, specifically road construction and surfacing. This is his second business. The first was involved in the laying of fibre optics. He and his first business partner split amicably, and he committed to starting this venture.

He completed a course at Wits University on entrepreneurship, which he said was very helpful, but in his opinion, the Black Umbrellas model provides a greater nexus between theory and practical application.
The Wits programme taught him about self-discovery and developing ideas and marketing, but Black Umbrellas immerses you in the actual world of business.
